Forgiveness is the biggest tool for redemption. Forgive, forgive, forgive. And if you can forgive Hitler, you should also be able to let yourself off the hook .... Right?
As suffering is seen, the heart is weighed down regardless of upbringing or beliefs passed through traditions. No individual desires to see another suffer, as at some core instinctual level we all know we are One. As in the commandment, thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself.
The issue doesn’t usually fall in the loving and compassion towards another, but rather in the loving of one’s own self. Unconditional and without any self-inflicted judgements that always lead to shame and guilt, which only blocks you further from the love.
Can you forgive yourself? Can you love yourself through and through without conditions? Can you allow yourself to be free to be the individual who you are and who you came to be?
If so, then go out there and be your truth. Say what you mean. And be playful with the day just like a child is; ever present in the moment following the heart’s desires in all decision making.
As love will come and go throughout every human being’s life; no matter the culture or the time period, love will blossom between two individuals. As they are witnessing their beauty in the form of another being. To be able to look into the mirror, pass all the judgement and criticisms, as our love for this person allows us to show compassion and empathy towards them. Pointing out that we ourselves are deserving of this same unconditional love, but the problem at hand is in the lack of awareness surrounding the subject of mirror work. The buddhists have some teachings around it, but the instruction manual for that is nowhere to be found and it requires the following of one’s own heart into the depths of darkness where they had fallen asleep so many years ago. And only love can entice such a soul to travel through the thickness of their past with all its traumas and unpleasant memories.
For my own experiences in the psychotherapy which occurred while secluded in my room alone, just the Universe and me. It felt as though it was the Universe vs. me; but I would come to learn better than to see the Universe as working in any way other than for my own good. The painful unwrapping of wounds scarred from many years ago had made it feel as though I was being punished for something which I didn’t recall doing. Maybe something karmic I would think to myself, like a sort of payback for my last life which I could have been a murderer or even during a certain period of time I would come to wonder if I had been Adolf Hitler. As the reflection in the mirror would show me Hitler & surprise me with quickly blurring the reflection so that all I could see was the mustache and outline of him staring back through a foggy mirror.
I fully forgave that man for what he had done, although it hadn’t been something to personally affect me in this lifetime - some would say it isn't at my place to forgive or not. Which is fair, although the thought of any soul spending eternity in hell for a mistake(s) made here while on the plain of learning that is filled with twists and turns of confusions that can lead anyone astray. And I just really think that the experience here is meant for learning, and that no single human can inflict their will upon any other human soul without the soul’s agreement or participation. So somewhere there is a world that is Hitler’s and he is reincarnating through the various stages of aftermath in his own stage’s playing out of post Nazi Germany while the Jewish people who had been wrongly massacred are not truly in his world but each have their own world with their own lessons going on. And the affected part of the soul which is the Jewish person in Hitler’s world are all just reflections for the playing out of his after-effects.
I cried immensely for some period of time whenever thinking about the hatred and weight of blame that is placed on this individual soul. Believing that the soul of any human being, at the core essence is of purity and good natured unconditional love - yet the life experience on Earth is such a confusing ordeal that the soul can become incredibly lost and not ever to return until after this life. And even in the case of wrongs carried out under Hitler’s leadership, he is not the sole carrier of that burden and should not be hated or called evil for his life he led lost in the dark; like so many of us today still stumble in the darkness.
